Privacy Policy

ExamTrail Prep is an independent study application. This policy explains what we collect, why we use it, and the choices available to you.

1. What we collect

Information you provide

• Study activity: practice answers, exam results, personal notes, study time, and internal readiness estimates kept temporarily in the active browser tab.
• Settings: theme, text size, and whether French learning support is enabled.
• Feedback: anything you submit using the feedback form.

Information collected automatically

• Standard server and security logs handled by Cloudflare, which may include IP address, browser information, request times, and security events.
• Session browser storage used to remember settings and study activity while the browser tab remains open. This temporary activity is deleted when the tab closes.

What we do not require: a legal name, home address, date of birth, phone number, government identification, payment information, or email address.

2. Why we use information

• Show temporary history, statistics, and practice-based readiness estimates
• Secure the service and prevent abuse
• Fix errors and improve questions and explanations
• Respond to feedback

We do not sell personal information. We share information only with providers that host or protect the service, as needed to operate it, or when required by law.

3. Browser storage, analytics, and advertising

We currently use session browser storage for essential app functions. We do not currently use advertising or nonessential analytics. Before adding either, we will update this policy and request consent where required. If advertising is introduced, it will be non-personalized for anyone who indicates they are under 18.

4. Learners under 18

ExamTrail Prep is not directed to children under 13. Anyone under 13 should not use the application. If you are under 18, please review this policy with a parent or guardian. If you believe a child under 13 provided personal information through feedback, contact us so we can delete it.

5. Retention

No learner account or server-side study profile is currently created. Study activity kept in session browser storage disappears when the browser tab closes. Standard security logs may be retained by our hosting provider according to its operational and security practices.

6. Your choices and data requests

• Access: temporary study activity is visible in the application while the tab remains open.
• Delete: close the browser tab to remove temporary study activity.
• Feedback requests: email ExamTrail Prep customer service if you want separately submitted feedback removed.

Depending on where you live, additional privacy rights may apply. We will respond to access, correction, deletion, or export requests regardless of location, after taking reasonable steps to verify the request.

7. Security

We serve the site over HTTPS and use security controls to protect the service from abuse. No system is perfectly secure. Do not enter sensitive personal information in notes or feedback.

8. International processing

The application uses Cloudflare infrastructure, which may process information in multiple countries. Information may therefore be processed outside the country where you live.

9. Changes

Material changes will be identified by a new “Last updated” date and an in-app notice where appropriate.
